We are able to create a "worn" patina effect by sanding areas of the steering wheel. This can be done at any stage of the painting process to expose woodgrain below paint and or with multiple layers of colors. If inquiring about a custom color patina effect, bring up the details and colors once we respond to this email in conversation.

Paint splatter is paint we literally throw at the steering wheel. It will be random and each color has different splattering characteristics when thrown. Some colors spread out, other streak, and some run and drip. We smooth the wheel mostly but sometimes this can lead to some slight texturing on the wheel with the raised levels of paint.

Metallic flakes generally look best when applied over a darker basecoat. For example, when used over a black basecoat they really pop and look very deep. When applied over a white basecoat, the flake almost makes the steering wheel look "dirty" and the flake doesn't sparkle nearly as much. The darker the basecoat, the more depth and pop the flake will have.

We can etch our pattern designs or custom requests onto the outer grip of any in stock woodgrain steering wheel. This can be combined with paint work above! Etching is done on a 2-dimensional plane, so it will be etched onto the front/back but doesn't wrap around the edges. When we etch without involving paint work, we can do both front and back. When combining colors with etching, we only offer the custom etch work on the front face of the steering wheel for the best finished look. ALL etchings on woodgrain are sealed with a treatment of clearcoat.

Please note that when we inlay a second color into the etching it requires a lot of cleaning up with sanding and this generally creates small "burn through" spots on sharp edges that expose the woodgrain tones again.

This is perfect for getting in/out of the vehicle, especially if space is limited due to deep seats or a roll cage. Quick releases are universal items and mount between the steering wheel and adapter hub. You must have an adapter hub to use a quick release.
