TECHNICAL INSPECTION:
Please do a technical mechanical inspection on your vehicle BEFORE the event! We will be doing a tech inspection, but we expect you to be prepared. If your car fails to meet any of the following requirements you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE until those changes are made. Make sure you can check all of the following boxes!!!
☐ Helmet – MAKE SURE YOU HAVE IT! SFI/Snell 2015 or newer is recommended though DOT approved helmets will be permitted for non-tandem drifting.
☐ Pants & Closed Toe Shoes – MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THEM! No shorts or open-toe shoes are allowed while driving or riding in-car. Fire retardant clothing/suits are recommended though not required. You never can be too safe!!
☐ Fire extinguisher – all cars must have at least one fire extinguisher that can be accessed by the driver.
☐ Loose Items – Ensure there are no loose items in the interior/trunk of your vehicle.
☐ Floor Mats – Remove floor mats before tech inspection. These are considered “loose items.”
☐ Lug Nuts – All lug nuts or lug bolts must be present.
☐ Seat Belts – Factory 3pt. or harnesses must be present and firmly mounted.
☐ Throttle Return – The throttle cable must be well mounted and able to extend/retract freely without any interruption.
☐ Steering Wheel – must be mounted properly and with all bolts present. No play in the steering column, quick release, or any mounting hardware can be present upon a firm grasp and left/right movement while car is off.
☐ Seat – must be properly mounted and all bolts present.
☐ Gas Cap – must be present.
☐ Radiator Overflow – An overflow reservoir IS required. If you do not have one, make sure you rig up a bottle of some sort to catch this fluid. You cannot allow the fluid to expand and drip onto the track.
☐ NO MAJOR LEAKS! If we see your car leaking excessively we will stop you from being on track. THIS IS SERIOUS!
☐ Brake Lights – must have at least two functioning brake lights on the rear of the vehicle.
☐ Head Lights – for night driving you must have at least one functioning headlight.
☐ Battery Tie Down & Terminals – The battery must have a solid tie-down to hold it in place from vertical/horizontal movement. WRAP YOUR BATTERY TERMINALS IN ELECTRICAL TAPE TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL ARK IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
☐ Battery Box – If your battery is INSIDE THE CABIN you must either have a dry-battery or have the wet-battery inside of a box. [This is to protect the driver from being covered in battery acid in a worst case scenario.]
☐ Convertible Cars – MUST HAVE ROLL BAR TO PROTECT DRIVER IN EVENT OF A ROLL-OVER.
☐ Seat – Driver’s seat must have all four mounts in use and have no movement.
☐ Electrical Wiring – No bare/exposed wiring. Wrap it up folks. This is how you prevent electrical fires.
☐ Wheel Bearings – Ensure you have no weak wheel bearings. [While the car is in the air, grab the mounted wheel/tires setup on each corner at the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock position and try to wiggle it in/out with your hands. If your wheel has play in it, you need to replace those wheel bearings. A compromised wheel bearing could result in a wheel failing or removing mid-drift. Wheels at high wheel speeds can be extremely dangerous to the surrounding spectators.]
☐ Hubcaps/Beauty Rings – Absolutely no loose-mounted, press-on, snapped-in style wheel finishes. These items, if dislodged, can hurt the spectators who enjoy watching you drift. Let’s keep them safe!
☐ No accessory exterior mounted items. This means no bicycles, tire racks, prop-items on the outside of the car. If it can be removed, just remove it before the track goes hot. These items, if dislodged, can hurt the spectators who enjoy watching you drift. Let’s keep them safe!
BY COMPLETING THIS REGISTRATION YOU ARE AGREEING AND UNDERSTAND ALL OF THE ABOVE. ANY VIOLATION OF RULES, OR UNREPAIRABLE MAINTENANCE, AS REQUIRED BY OUR TECHNICAL INSPECTION, WILL FORFEIT YOUR ENTRY FEE WITH NO REFUND. You can fix it at the track and still drive, but we are telling you all of this in advance so you can get it prepared and spend your track-day-time ON TRACK.

Ending 2019 with a bang!
We spent the first two weekends of December 2019 traveling to two different drift events. We camped in our enclosed car trailer, shout out to our buddy Andrew for loaning it to us to begin with, and had a blast!
Our first trip to Florida was a test event for the Klutch Kickers competitive series these guys have since publicly announced. The track is great for drifting and it was a fun environment to be in. We’re excited to see how they grow this competitive platform next year as they’re offering up $100,000 in winnings for their 5-event series! The weekend wasn’t very fun as far as driving went. Scott took the S13 out following the competition on Saturday and blew the stock SR transmission on the second lap, again.
We were forced to rush back home and swapped the factory SR transmission out for a CD8 6-speed from a G37. This setup was previously installed on Scott’s old yellow drift car and has been sitting on a pallet rack for a couple years now. We were able to swap the transmission over and have the car ready for the following weekend in New Orleans.
The EYB VI event by NOdrft was one hell of a weekend for drifing. With a skid pad, kart track, and full road course available for driving across three days, they also managed to include a team tandem competition that we were able to create some steering wheel trophies for! There was a huge bonfire ran by the track fire safety staff at night and many other forms of motorsports taking place that weekend on site. It was truly an amazing weekend for any auto enthusiast and we highly recommend this event if you’re in the southeastern region of the states!
Matt & Austin from Klutch Kickers were able to snag some beautiful shots from the weekends and were kind enough to send them over to us. Peep the coverage from these talented fellas down below!
